Overview

APA Chicago has assembled the brightest stars in the agent and consultant community to review photographer portfolios. Reviews are an excellent opportunity to network with well-connected agents and consultants to help you take the next steps toward commercial fame. This year's reviews take place virtually and are open to all photographers looking for feedback on the quality of their work.

How it works

It's like speed dating. You'll get three reviews lasting 20 minutes with your hand-selected artist representatives. You'll receive an email roughly 3-4 days before the event with a list of final reviewers. You'll rank them in order of importance, and we'll do our best to schedule you with your top picks.

We often get asked, "C'mon, has anyone been signed by an agent attending one of these Rep. Portfolio Reviews?" And the short answer is yes—it has happened (but it can be a long shot). Visual communicators, focusing just on outcomes, may not be where it’s at. Consider everything you will learn about yourself and your work in preparation for your reviews. Editing your portfolio to add your latest work, rewriting and strengthening your elevator pitch, practicing your delivery, and writing down the relevant questions to ask that will give you the creative and business insight to move your career forward.
